this is what happens when the deaf and blind get together.  we may go to hell for laughing at this but you gotta find the humor in everything, right? [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feBNlfB2EOs&hl=en&fs=1&]

happy birthday phineus!

by | Friday, September 25, 2009 |

about 5 years ago today this fantastic specimen arrived on this earth to spread his joy and phatitude.  my scientific equation for figuring out birth days is as follows:  date of dog's arrival in colella household - approximate age = exact colella birthday.  this equation works unless the exact colella birthday falls around a holiday and then exact colella birthday moves to holiday...with 16 dogs any help with remembering a day is much needed.  so now you know and you can...

earthdog tennis anyone?

by | Sunday, September 13, 2009 |

years ago dave & i used to play tennis fairly regularly until my bad shoulder became my worse shoulder and we hung up our racquets.  lately, because i’ve gotten my shoulder in better shape, i’ve been thinking of trying to play again.  we decided to buy some balls, dust off the racquets (seriously, dave’s required a hosing) and try hitting a few balls in the driveway just to see how it felt.  because we tend to do things in a “different” (moronic...

we call her twinkletoes

speck's been having a problem hitting her mark (the mark being her food bowl) lately.  her rotund body and short legs do not work aerodynamically in her favor and her braking ability is severely limited by her girth.  what she is immensely successful at is making us laugh.  she's our little rodeo clown parodying a cattle dog.   [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjgbTBvVc7Y&hl=en&fs=1&]

so murray's getting up there in years - his hearing is all but gone and he walks like he's been through the desert on a horse with no name but man, oh man he can chew a bone with the best of 'em.  i've said it before but i'll say it again - this dog kills me...i adore him. [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQT6P7NG8sI&hl=en&fs=1&] i know right...how cute is he???

i think jon bon jovi said it best when he said "he's a little runaway"

by | Wednesday, August 26, 2009 |

our life seems to move pretty fast and there's usually a lot to be accomplished on any given day. our nights fill up pretty quickly as well, what with dave's band practices, errands, grocery shopping, hanging out with friends & family, and appointments. this week we had a bunch of errands to do and last night was the only night we had available so we planned to go out after we finished work and fed the dogs. easy breezy covergirl, right…um, actually wrong…our little fletcher...
