while 93.75% of our family adored benny from the get go there was one that was not only not impressed but downright scared of him.  as fearless as speck seems she is actually terrified of new people and new dogs, the only exception being carly who she adored right from the start (go figure).  speck spent benny’s first few days running away from him and hiding under things.  because murphy’s law is what it is benny was drawn to speck right from the start and followed after her...

barking up the wrong tree

i haven't posted about benny in a while through no fault of his own - i've got a ton of video that i need to get edited so stay tuned for that.  he continues to be an amazing little man.  this is just a quick clip illustrating that regardless of how adorable he is indi is still not interested in his antics (and that he can be clumsy). ...

dave started feeding the koi again the other day (they don’t eat in cold weather) and it seems speck found herself another food source.  it should be noted that speck is of sizable girth and is no need of further food, especially that which is stolen from the mouths of fish.  the beginning part of the video was shot by dave from inside the house and right after he finished shooting speck apparently took a header into the pond.  we deduced this from two things:  a...

back in the saddle

fortunately for me nature provided some inspiration with which to ease back into blogging. last weekend we had the largest snowstorm we've seen in nashville in the 15 years we've been here. it was a fantastic weekend of being snowed in together and that along with the beautiful white blanket over everything (along with the silence) did my heart good. here are a few snippets for your enjoyment: indi relished being covered in snow we got a good bit of snow but the tail end was sleet so we ended...

a gaggle of yahoos

i apologize for my extended absence but holy canoli i think the stress of trying to think of a blog post essentially completely incapacitated me. i’ll just put this out there so it’s common knowledge – my life is pretty boring, and i mean that in the greatest possible way. yes, i live with 16 dogs but dogs are creatures of habit and so they do the same thing day in and day out and are rather uninteresting. i apparently need to work harder to make something out of nothing which i guess means...

wash-n-wear

well, we’ve made it through burr season (see this) and now find ourselves firmly entrenched in what we fondly refer to as “berry eating season” (i said fondly refer to not wittily refer to or creatively refer to...it's a very literal title, not unlike doorman). very simply this means the dogs spend all their time outside foraging under our trees for any kind of fallen debris they can ingest. the one exception is carly (she's always always the exception), who chooses not to wait for things to...
