she's movin on up

by | Tuesday, July 9, 2013 |

carly's life has gotten a big upgrade of late; first with estelle and more recently (and fervently) with the addition of merlin.  she and merlin are developing a fantastic relationship and i couldn't be happier.  i was filming them the other night and captured pure magic that i'm not ashamed to say had me bawling: ...

monkey business

by | Sunday, March 4, 2012 |

zig’s been with us about a month now and i can’t believe how much i adore the little monkey. he is quickly becoming universally adored by everyone in the family, barring a few hanger-oners to aloofness. he even turned benny, who seemingly thought he should remain the baby of the family and no one should come in after him but he’s begrudgingly accepted zig. he’s still doing horribly with housetraining (he’ll get there) and is very timid with new people and things but he’s coming along by leaps...

bring on the night

last night was the first not unbearably hot evening we've had here in quite a while so we attempted to enjoy some peace & quiet on the patio... [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKfJhhCidYQ&w=470&h=349] sometimes our ideas do not at all intersect with the dogs' ideas.

violet's blooming

by | Thursday, September 2, 2010 |

violet had her surgery and yesterday she had her 3-week follow-up where we found out that while she’s healing well she will definitely not have a fully functional leg, although it could prove helpful for balance and some other leg-centric activities. the biggest issue is that violet seems to have written the leg off completely – won’t use it, won’t look at it, won’t have nothing to do with it, to the point that she many times lets it drag behind her and the sores and ground-down nails that...

dog days of summer

by | Saturday, July 3, 2010 |

i know i've been light on the posting of late but at this point in the summer the dogs do little interesting beyond panting and sleeping, although i have managed to capture benny & carly in action a few times... hope you're all enjoying your summer and having a wonderful holiday weekend. ...
