covid-19 update

A message to our community, from Dave & Kym, Founders

On this Monday full of so many unknowns for so many people around the globe we wanted to take a moment to share a few things while you’re hopefully at home with your dogs, doing your part to stop the spread of this most unwelcome guest.

earthdog is open for business and we are able to do this as we have always operated in a streamlined manner, allowing us to work at home with our pack of dogs (so we’re naturally quarantined). We use local stitchers who also work in their own homes to produce the hemp wares we have been proud to offer for the last 23 years. We are rotating stock more frequently and sanitizing our work areas on a regular basis for extra precaution.

Our reality at this moment in time is that, along with our independent retailers, who we value and appreciate, we all face an uncertain future as determined small business owners.

That said, it continues to be our great honor to outfit your dogs in a sustainable plant that fully represents the green future that our planet requires. And it is the interactions with you all, the comments and the emails, the photos and social media tags that are so enjoyable and meaningful and connect us to your dogs who walk at the end of our leashes and spend their lives wrapped in our collars. With permission we share a sweet note following an order this weekend that spoke volumes to us about the value of a simple connection at a time when we clearly all find ourselves in the same big boat:

“Love you guys and your beautiful collars. I hope each of you have a wonderful day, an awesome week and a beautiful spring! These collars allow me to do something nice for my babies and they are a gesture of friendship when I purchase a collar for other’s dogs. During this weird, unsettled time I want to pass along a little gratitude.

Love, Joe, Sage and Maizy”

There’s no doubt we could all use a little respite right now. Basic kindness and gratitude seem to be taking on a bigger meaning. Our dogs, with their simple grace, are here to provide comfort to us and are receiving more of the thing most important to them - our time and attention. Give them a hug from us, may we all keep our chins up and we thank you for being here on the ride with us!

With gratitude,

Dave & Kym
